Several different toothbrush techniques exist to improve your oral health. As with all other issues, it is important to always focus on your brushing skills, so you can continue to receive the oral health you need to keep your teeth and gums safe. If your oral hygiene slacks, your oral health will suffer as well.

One of the first things you always need to do is make sure that you are brushing twice every day. Each session should last between 2 to 3 minutes while brushing the outer, inner and chewing surfaces of every tooth. Because brushes cannot adequately clean between teeth, interdental tools such as dental floss or a water flosser will be needed.

When brushing your teeth, make sure you angle the brush at a 45-degree angle. To help prevent dental abrasion, always use a brush that has soft bristles and non-abrasive toothpaste. If you struggle with traditional brushing tools, consider easier to operate utensils such as electric toothbrushes. For additional help with your oral health care, visit your dentist for routine examinations and bi-annual professional cleanings as needed.
